The guy doesn’t understand consent. He forces himself on the girl, which is a form of sexual assault, and yet his actions are presented as if they are driven by love and passion. I found this really uncomfortable because being possessive, aggressive, or forceful toward someone shouldn’t automatically be romanticized as love. Their romance also felt rushed and underdeveloped. They didn’t have enough meaningful interactions for me to understand how their feelings became so deep. There wasn’t enough emotional development or genuine connection between them, yet suddenly, they were already saying that they loved each other. It felt more like the story was telling me that they were in love instead of actually showing me how they fell in love. I also had a hard time rooting for the male lead because of the way he treated the female lead. Some of his behavior crossed serious boundaries, and I wish the story had addressed those actions more critically instead of using them as part of the romance. A love story needs more than intense attraction, jealousy, and possessiveness to convince me that two characters genuinely care for each other. Overall, the romance just didn’t work for me. I wanted more conversations, emotional connection, mutual respect, and actual relationship development between the characters. Without those things, their declarations of love felt unearned, and the problematic treatment of consent made it even harder for me to enjoy their relationship.
